Wagon Master Furnace issues

I have a Wagon master furnace model 5000-f. The unit used to work great but now I am running into the issue of when I transfer from pilot light to ON it will go out after a few minutes. If I leave it on pilot it runs no problem. Unsure of how to proceed I have cleaned the thermo coupler with steel wool and no change. Any advice is appreciated.

It sounds like a bad thermocouple. The only part that doesn't seem normal is that a bad thermocouple won't usually hold the pilot light on either. Get a 2nd opinion, but a thermocouple is inexpensive. Your RV furnace may differ from home furnaces. If your heating season is over, you could wait until fall.

I picked one up today with that in mind will change out soon. Only $13.00 so worth a shot.

thermo couple

take the old one out go to your nearest competent hardware store they should have it nothing complicated about them.

I just did a rebuild of a 30 year old Vermont castings gas stove I used amazon for all my parts including a new gas valve and thermocouple!

be thankful if its just a thermocouple and they do go bad!!

just be careful not to bend the tube to much to kink it when installing new one.

Or an RV dealer should have them, too.
