We need to purchase another battery .. found this one and we're wondering if anyone has this battery and especially, does it fit in the Casita compartment?

The battery is the Lifeline AGM GPL-27T RV ....

CarolnJim,

I use this brand, its a tough, mean long lasting battery, its expensive and well worth it, many will think that your blowing your money. I drive to Phoenix to buy mine rather than buy the others. Its a very heavy battery because of its heavy duty construction.

My current life line is 5 years old, it out preforms still all my camping buds and they are on their 3rd purchase of batteries now.

The advice I would give is get the high end charger for it, not a cheap one, do not over stress its rated output in amps requested from it all at once.

Their website in California is informative.

You will be very happy with this battery.

Happy Camping, Safe Trails.

Harry

My secret for controlling replacement battery costs is to buy used batteries from the nearest Interstate Battery distributor.

The batteries they sell used are batteries removed from essential equipment where batteries are replaced on a routine, scheduled basis such as hospital equipment.

I've never gotten less than four years use and most often go around six before these need replacing. When the Scamp is not being used, I have a permanent trickle charger that keeps them up to voltage whenever an extension cord is plugged in.

This is not to say my solution is better than the Lifeline AGM, but I am absolutely sure it is less expensive as I have been getting my batteries for $25 to $30 for a series 27 deep discharge type. Before I buy, the fellow at Interstate has a meter to check the internal resistance of the batteries of size I want to purchase and gives me the best of the group.

I have been doing this for a number of years, since I once owned and operated a business that had a fleet of vehicles. Keeping my operating costs low made my business more profitable. Keeping my Scamping costs low lets me do more Scampering! (I see Scamping is not a real word.)

Just a note because we haven't yet ordered the battery. Jim is getting close, but is still looking into this one.

We do appreciate all your posts .. suggestions and information are great and we will let you all know what we do - including how it fits.

Thanks to all
Carol and Jim

Our thanks to everyone that responded - you definitely helped us to make the choice of our battery.

Lifeline GPL-27T is designed for Deep Cycle RV / Recreational

We ordered the battery today at BD Batteries in Colorado. (303) 800-4725 .. It will be shipped from Los Angeles to us, so no savings on CA tax, but the price was great $259 .. free shipping. We looked all over and this was the best price we could find. We should receive the battery next week.
