What to do before an accident
Here is a good idea I ran across here:
RV Accident - Be Prepaired
Down near the bottom is this:
First responders... firefighters, EMTs, police... suggested a good idea that would help them immensely in emergencies. If you take your cell phone and put in the numbers of people to call In Case of Emergency and then put ICE where you would put the name, they can easily look up who to call for you. ICE stands for In Case of Emergency.
One never knows what condition they may be in after an accident.

How about if Speed Dial #1 is your own number to retrieve voice mail messages, make Speed Dial #2 an I.C.E. number.
In my cell phone the list is: - Voice Mail
- I.C.E. (Robert's Home Number)
- My Office Manager at work
- back-up I.C.E. number (in case Robert is with me)

I can't resist any longer. I was always told to wear clean underwear in case I was in an accident.

And as Bill Cosby said "first you say it; then you do it"
Mom: "Did he have clean underwear?"
Nurse: "Yes, we found them in the glovebox"

In some cases, even wearing clean underwear is no guarantee that they will be that way after an accident.....

I always ALWAYS wore new clean undies to horse shows for that reason.
But the one time I was carted off in an ambulance from an event it didn't really come into play at all. Luckily.

I used to carry a "throw away" camera. Now I can't find them. So I carry my extra digital camera.
When I had a major accident (Totaled a Airstream Bambi and a Dodge Durango) in 2000 I was able to take a whole bunch of "After" pictures that I used in filing my claim. My insurance payoff was 96% of new values.

Towed a large trailer every week for many years at work and a small trailer at home still no accidents while towing (knock on wood). We can be careful but still things can happen Thanks for the Ideas best to be ready.

Most new phones have that feature built in. You just plug in the numbers that you want contacted in an emergency and ICE is the first numbers that come up when your contact list come up. Honestly I can't think of a phone that I have had in the last 3 or so years that didn't have that feature. But for those with Cell service that doesn't have an ICE feature this would be a great idea.

gezzz - how do I do that? My old Blackberry and my Iphone4 have Emergency Call buttons but they only call 911 no way of changing. Just searched google to see how to set it up differently on Iphone as Robin suggests but cant find any info on it. I see that Iphone has some apps for ICE - but does it have a built in feature thats hidden?

When they carted me off in a ambulance they cut all my clothes off and threw them away. All I had left was my shoes and belt.

Carol, When you click on your Contacts (you know where all your contacts come up in Alphabetical order, ICE should be the first on the list. Click on that and there should be 3 places for 3 contact numbers, as well as a place to comment on special needs you might have, drug interaction etc........
