A few modifications must be made when camping with a newborn. my little man postponed his initial introduction to his parents, and therefore messed up our camping schedule. we took him out at 6 weeks and he is a true little camper. loves live music (fireside guitar sessions), long walks along the water, and boobs. typical man.

so this past long weekend he needed a bath. we improvised. its the same cowboy style shower that my hubby and i get clean in.

so i am now wondering how we will suffice next summer when the dictator is running around. has anyone thought of a sleeping restraining device for toddlers?
i believe the front bunks will suit our needs.

my hubby feels we will need to upgrade to a larger trailer. SACRILEGE. i am unwilling to go any bigger (except for a rare 16foot airstream), just for towability and cuteness concerns.

suggestions?

One of the slickest setups I've seen for a child that needs to be confined (or perhaps puppies??) is the one Ginni did, it would leave the top bunk available for you to use for storage or ??

Baby bath option #1 for our family is a Rubbermaid bin ... 32L for babies & toddlers, 64L (taller one) rubbermaid bin is perfect for preschoolers right up to mom ... works great to hold laundry under the bed, then dump the laundry to do bath time... even has a lid to keep the water warm while I warm the next pot on the stove. I've even put a ring of 3 little children in their "tubs" around the campfire... the 32L also works as a bassinet!

thanks for the great idea. sounds like the best option for next year, when kid is running around. i prefer this solution as it requires no permanent reno to the trailer.
the 3 ring circus sounds like a great photo op.
you rock

. . . So no one is going to mention how it kinda, sorta looks like she's getting ready to cook the baby in that picture??

That's going to make a great story when he gets older . . . .
