Window seal not sitting right...

hello everybody!

i have a bit of a concern as i have just replaced the windows and seals and used the one piece seal. no matter what i do, a small gap of about 1-2 mm between the boler and seal persists! Its really annoying and i have tried tapping it in every which way to move it...im not sure what i could be doing wrong... any help or advice would be amazing!

Corey, from your pics I can't tell which windows you replaced. If you replaced the front and rear plexiglass windows, a two part seal is used (one part of the seal wedged into the other part of the seal).

Corey, here is a thread dealing with the front window seal. The portion of the seal that inserts into the other seal is referred to as the lockstrip.

Hard to tell from the pics but....the seal has one narrow and one wide "slot" for the shell and plexi....is it possible the seal is in the wrong way?

If you got the seal from a glass shop it comes in different "slot" sizes too...

John, some of the seals have an attached lockstrip, so they're referred to as one-piece. Principle is the same.

Al, I was thinking along similar lines. If the slot on the shell is a too narrow, that might cause the flange to splay out a little.

Hopefully a Boler expert will be along to confirm the correct specs for the seal.

thanks for the replies! ya it is a one piece seal...all i can get in canada. It is installed correctly, and i did read a few articles before hand just to make sure i wasn't missing a step. Its a straight forward process. But for some reason i can seam to get it to sit properly. i also made sure the new window was the same thickness before plopping it in. below is a pic of the seal i used. as you can tell there is only one way to put it in.

Is the lockstrip / bead on the inside or outside? (Can't tell form the photo)

If it is on the inside then see this post from our resident Boler expert:

Where did you get it? Local glass shop had the two piece seal in stock...$3/ft with the locking strip.

If you can, might be an idea to run it down to a glass shop...get a pros opinion....

Lock strip is on the out side, and I picked up the seal from argus industries as per the thread regarding window replacements...
