Window Trim

The interior side windows in my unit have aluminum trims around them. I'm thinking of using a wood trim instead - maybe maple, or painted to match the cabinet doors. Has anyone done this? If so, how did you attach the new trim?

Is it a big deal to take the old interior trim off? Is it just a cosmetic piece? I could also leave it on and put the new ones overtop if need be.

I have my windows out at present.I thought about using wood trim when i re-install.I think I will just screw in to place.:)

Mine came with wood as inside trim and support for the windows. I like it. (good thing) but that aluminum trim?? I don't have any idea if it's a must have or not. You didn't say if yours had that or not, Ches.
