Question wood interior valance,vinyl skin.

Hi... this is probably a question to bigfoot trailer members. I have a 13 foot egg, the interior has 1/4" plywood cabinets. the sides of the sink, closet, and the exposed surfaces of the window valances (over all 3 windows) are covered with a very thin vinyl veneer (paper thin), It has come off in random sized pieces. Where it meets the windows (at a wainscot board) the window frame has wrinkled the skin, because in a heated condition, expansion and contraction made it a tight wave after wave after wave; say 10"s here and there and all across the bottom of the driver side window. I would like to replace the skin with something a little more substantial. but not anything like a Formica.
