13 ft Casita A/C unit

I have a 2013 Casita 13 ft camper. The A/C unit is immediately inside the entry door, on the right, at floor level. There is a vent on the front of the camper for air to the unit.
We have never used the a/c and I am thinking of pulling it out to provide more storage space.
Does anyone know if there are any tricks or traps involved in pulling it outor will it just be a matter of removing trim and mounting and slide it out?

Second question. Can I simply fiberglass over the aluminum vent grate on the front of the trailer?
