I am the new owner of a restored 1975
Boler. I have been doing some work on it, so I thought I'd share here. This camper (Olive) has another thread that I started to address some problem solving. Her restoration itself (done ca. 2012 by a previous owner) is documented elsewhere on this site also. This new thread is to share some of my own updates.
Here is Olive, 13'
Boler (may be 1974, but
title says 1975):
I added cabinet support ribs under the front hanging cabinet (sides and center) as well as support ribs for the roof (either side of the fan, attached to cabinets). Ribs are polyurethaned 5/8" birch plywood:
I also added support ribs under the sides of the back hanging cabinet:
(sorry about picture)
I updated Olive's bed to table/sitting area conversion. The existing system was two large boards (they were great as a bed, but difficult to store when not in use. Also impractical as a table). Bed pictured below and also with cushions removed:
The key for me is that the table fits into slats so it stores easily and is also useful as a support.
Table top is set aside in picture below. Note that table has a 2x2 support for when in bed configuration:
Table has an optional separate base that allows the table to be placed outside. If table is not available for bed configuration, I have a few extra boards that can be added on top of the slats to keep bed cushions level:
Slide slats back to create extended seat. Some or all of these can be removed to make seat shorter:
With table and cushions in place:
I used 5/8" plywood and ripped a couple pieces of 2x4 to size for slats. Table is polyurethaned 3/8" plywood with 1x4 pine underneath for support.
