1975 trillium 1300 upper shelves

I was wondering if someone could tell me if ALL trillium 1300 of the '75 year had the fiberglass upper wraparound shelves in front and back? I am restoring mine and I don't have them, and I do not see any old anchor points in the interior to say that they used to have them and were taken out years ago. Was this an option? Was this not available in 1975? A lot of pictures I see of these all seem to have had these shelves, thanks

Shelving

We recently sold our 1975 Trillium 1300...it did not have the shelving to which you refer, nor was there any indication that these had ever existed. I believe this was an option that was available, or perhaps standard equipment on some sub-models.

We purchased some plastic-coated wire shelving, trimmed it to fit and installed it around the rear-upper interior perimeter of our Trillium...this worked very well.

The shelves attach by screws into the wood backer at the top of the windows, and rivets into the galley and wardrobe sides.

They were an option. Some had none, some only had the back, some had both. Being open shelves, often stuff will fall out. Handy place to put lights though.

We added netting held with a shock cord; like you might see on an overhead rack on a bus. We put clothes up there. Maggie didn't like her undies falling on the floor.

I would think similar shelves could be easily made out of 1/4" plywood.

As Jim says the shelves attach to the upper window spacer which in my case is 1/2 plywood so its not real rugged. I had to redo mine. Drilling into that plywood is not for the faint of heart. Raz
