1977 13' Scamp Resto Mod
So here are the pictures of our project Scamp. I will try to keep it current with updated pictures and future plans. Enjoy!
Here is the body off the frame...
Some damage from the body/ frame separation...We almost lost it!! Very tense moment!
Some interior shots partially dismantled...
All interior fiberglass parts are up for grabs...
I will have some of the shots of the frame pre-axle work in the next couple days.

I'm amazed at how many '77 13' Scamps there are on this forum. But the surprising thing to me is that they're all different. Looks like a different rear window too. Mine has the tilt up windows in all of them. Weren't SCAMPS also made in So. CA.? I'm wondering if the style was dependent on the factory. Does anyone know?

Linda, Scamps have NEVER been made any place other than Backus, Minn. Are you thinking of Burro?

Well slap my head...the Burro IS what I'm thinking of. Donna, since you have so much knowledge of Scamps, do you know why there are the different windows and configurations for same model & yr Scamps?

No, I don't.. maybe it was availability from the manufacturer or Scamp decided to change due to customer input? I know Ford did that several times within a model year on the Mustang... so why not Scamp?
Then too, there's the "customer options." Unless we know a particular trailer came from the manufacturer BONE stock, maybe it was a change the buyer asked for and was willing to pay for

Derek,
Here is the initial schematic plan.
We want to put in a permanent full size bed where the dinette used to be. We do our sittin' outside, so we saw no need for the dinette. We also cook outside, so no stove either. Basically just a bed, a toilet and a sink on wheels! Once we get the frame back we will start mocking up some layouts in cardboard to test out the layout before we commit to cutting any wood and building cabinets.
Will keep you posted.

Sounds Interesting Trevor. Its a real good plan of mocking it up beforemaking any cuts! Are you going the route of a porta pottie/cassette toilet or a rv flushy?
I dont plan on cooking inside much, weather depending of course, but sometimes making coffeejust might be easier if your not ready to go outside lol.
Keep up the good work

It looks like a great use of space Trevor. Can't wait to see the progress along the way. When you finish your practice '77 13' Scamp resto, let me know and I'll bring mine over for an update.

Hi trevor and all, new here, first post. No Scamp yet; I'm eyballin' a badly oxidized, empty '75 shell on a frame for $700.
Needs/usage is very similar to trevor, ie. prefer to sit and cook outside, so I will be watching this post closely. Thanks for posting.

I know this post was from awhile back, but do you still need a home for the interior fiberglass parts?

Hello all. Sorry I have been out of touch, but the trailer work was going full swing until the heat of summer stalled my progress. I will try to get some progress shots up soon.
ThomKat, sorry, but we no longer have the interior parts. Good luck with your search.
Trevor
