1977 13ft. Scamp

Hello,

I need help finding someone who can change the wooden floor and frame on my 13' scamp. I'm currently in California, retired and able to travel anywhere in the U.S. The body is leaning allot to the left as if it separated from the frame. The frame has been welded several times in different spots due to cracks that occurred during my travels within the past 5 years. I've restored most of the scamp except those two items.

Thank you for your help.

Have you thought of just taking it to Scamp? Call them and see what they suggest? 218-947-4932 or 800-346-4962. Sounds like your Scamp has had other repairs so it might be best to have Scamp take a look. Since it sounds like you want to keep it, maybe give it a rejuvenation?

I'm not the poster/owner, however, I like the way you think. With Scamp involved, the owner would know that portion of the project was being done right. The old adage " you get what you pay for is pretty much the way it is"!

Thanks for the input. I called them (Scamp dealer). They do not do that work. If they see it maybe can get a better Opinion. YES I want to keep it. I'll see about posting pics once I learn how.
Side note : has the Dome Rock meeting in Arizona been cancelled ?

Glad you called Scamp. They keep adding and changing to keep up with what people want. I just picked up my Scamp on Oct. 5 and already they’ve changed some things. (I’m not jealous, I like mine just the way it is.). They’re pretty reasonable and if you can make the trip, you’ll enjoy meeting them. I found a really nice place to stay about 25 min. down the road (Rte. 371) where you could stay if they did some work for you. I agree, I’ve benefitted and learned a lot from suggestions I’ve gotten from the people on this website. And people don’t always agree, so you get different ways of looking at things. I’m in MA and things are a lot cheaper where Scamp is, I bet it’s the same for CA.

When I bought my used Scamp, I took it to the factory and had them install a new roof vent and seal up the door. They were great to work with and gave me a tour of the whole factory while I was waiting!

If you go back, about 25 minutes down Rte. 87 at the intersection with Rte. 371 is a nice motel, Americinn, next to the APine Restaurant. I stayed there with my dog waiting over the weekend for Scamp to open on Monday.

Thank you for the input and advice. Looking forward to the visit and hopefully repair. My first call to them I was told they didn't do that type of work,, second call was different person with different answers...as with most things requires more opinions.
