pics from "78 scamp restoration
We did finally figure out how to download pictures of our restoration on our scamp thanks to the veteran members, which we would like to personally thank for the help. If you missed them, they were posted yesterday. I also posted more today, and possibly more tomorrow if I have the time. I am always open to suggestions if any of you have a great idea for our resto. so pease let us know if you have any hints to make our "oversized milkjug" special to us
Thanks, Rickie & Josina

Well, as a builder in the state of Michigan... I have had plenty of time on my hands, and thanks to my grandpa and his wood shop, I have been pretty busy

LOVE your woodworking skills. I have a 64 Sante Fe and i am refinishing the wood in the interior, but nothing like your work. Awesome!
I have a question on your flooring. how far does it extend. Does it go completely under the bench seats. If so what was your trick for doing that. I havent poked around my 1980 in that much detail yet. But I am assuming some screws, and maybe wedging the seats up slightly to slide the flooring in.
tips and pictures would really help me.
OR.... did you just cut the flooring to fit around the seats.
Thanks again. jimbo

If you don't mind my asking about what does that type of flooring cost to cover your trailer floor? Our vinyl is ready to go soon and am considering options. Do NOT want to mention to better half until I have an idea of what it's going to cost.
As a fellow Michigander hope business picks up soon. Appears the economy is missing out on some real talent if your on the sidelines.

I removed the screws from the inside of the bottom of the bench, where it attaches to yhe sub floor. Then your flooring should slide right under it. I only laid the floor about an inch in and drilled pilot holes for the benches to be reattached. I also cut carpet to fit inside to cubbies to make for a more comfortable storage space. Sorry for the delay, havent checked my threads in it seams like forever. not so computer friendly so if you need a more detailed break down, just email me and I would be happy to send my cell # and help you however possible.

flooring costs for 13 Scamp
Roger, Sorry to take so long, things are looking better for business(thank you) I finished the floor with (2) boxes of laminate flooring, but it was close! If I were you I would purchase(3) boxes to be safe, and bring one back if possible. Sorry I don't know the price, as my carpet guy gave me extras from a big job he had. I do know you don't want to buy the cheapest stuff as you really get what you pay for with laminate. Midgrade it more than fine for normal application. You will also want to put down the cheaper plastic underlayment, I think I paid $25 at Menards and had enough left over to do (4) more campers. I also used the cheaper plastic 1/4 round moulding to trim it out. the plastic couldn't work out better for this application, being a camper( hot, cold, wet, dry?) and it's super flexible for the back, under the table. helpful hint... hot glue it in place and caulk it! top and bottom! Under the table seemed to be the trickiest for me to get to hold until the caulk dried, so use your immagination, or get ahold of me and I would love to walk you through it. Or stop by and i'll show you, being a Michigander! I live in Grandville(near Grand Rapids)
