78 Scamp restore

We are restoring our '13 scamp this winter which we bought thanks to my 80ish yr old grandparents, who have a '13er also (1984). If I can figure out how to add pictures to a thread I would love to show you all how well it's coming along. As I love to see others in the same boat as we are. If someone could share some hints on how to put pics on this thing I sure could use the help

In the little box above where you type your message, there is a little mountain. Click on that and it will ask you for the web address of the photo you want to add. Your pictures have to be hosted online somewhere else such as photo bucket, picasa, etc. Right click on your image that you want to show up, click on copy image location, paste it in to the address bar that pops up when you click on the little mountain button. Boom, done. It helps to have two tabs or windows open at once when doing this. One with the site with your hosted pictures and the one for FGRV. Practice it right here in this thread if you'd like.

Rickie, congratulations on a new project, please send some images to look at. Ask any questions you have, this is the place to get most answered.

Hi Rickie!

You can also attach photos by using " attach flies> manage attachments" to download photos to this site which is the preferred method since then the pictures will stay with the post forever.

Thank you all, I will try to email pictures from my "smart" phone to my iPod, or lap top. Just hung the new cabinet doors we made, installed floating floor, put new faucet in, trimmed flooring with shoe moulding, painted all of the walls( which turned into a nightmare), finishing up with new table 2" longer with a 8" leaf in the middle, installed a new spindle to replace the black iron factory one, which I turned on the lathe myself. Hope to share the progress with you all soon

our 1st vacation wiyh our Scamp

Our 1st vacation with our Scamp was to Wisconsin Dells. As we stopped at a truck stop I turned around to check and see if the car was locked, (a 2 door G6 convertible) and noticed our little camper next to another camper. As you see our gas mileage for the trip in that little car was quite impressive. I will post pictures of the restoration we started this winter as soon as I have the patience to attach them 10 at a time.

The start of our restoration

The start of our restoration this winter began with a nightmare. I assumed we would spare no expense for the paint on the walls, we applied BINs shalac base primer 1st, followed by Dutch boy platinum. WRONG! A week later all the paint began to crack and chip off the walls and ceilings. As a result we had to scrape(scratch) all the paint off with 1 1/2'' paint scrapers and start all over. As it turns out, a shalac base paint gets rock hard and when the ensolite flexes at all it cracks. I made all the cabinet doors from raw material from a mill near by, and we managed to get paint to stick to the walls. more later...
