Cool A Pearl is Formed Boler Restoration

I want to share our Boler renovations before preparing to paint the shell.
We have always camped with a tent and are looking forward to the comfort and convenience a small light trailer provides. Thank you to all the members that have helped and provided such great ideas and advice. We started last October with a typical 73 13ft Boler that was in very good condition all things considered. It has been a long cold winter and I am dreaming of the day we get to take “Pearl” on her maiden voyage.

The frame was sand blasted, reinforced and painted with POR 15
New brake axle from Paul at A-1 Auto Refinishing. Great to deal with!
Kitchen cabinet’s depth was increased for new 3 way fridge.
Closet insert built to hold IKEA plastic tubs.
Bed is now permanent with new foam mattress and added storage.
Front dinette added with storage behind cushioned seats.
Table swings down to help access storage under seats.
Potty is on a sliding cupboard under seat.
Door hinge side strengthened with support for future screen door.
Replaced all wiring and added 2 AGM batteries stored under sides of bed.
Installed PD4025 converter in side of seat under front table.
Closet, kitchen and drawers fronts all painted with Interlux Brightside.

Nice work. I like the stainless grab handle that connects the sink and overhead cabinets. That has to be handy when stepping over a sleeping mate.

Thanks Guys
Yes sleeping off the ground will help appease Roz who parked her car outside all winter. The Stainless grab bar doubles as a wire conduit.

Thats a really clever idea to run wiring up through there. I will keep that on the back burner.

Can you give more information on your closet renovation? That is my next project and I really like what you did.

Closet Storage Information

Hi Todd

I originally saw this setup in a friends Boler and also thought it was a great idea to use IKEA bins.
I made this insert from pine shelving boards.
The closet's opening is 40-3/4 X 17 the bottom is 4-3/4 up from 1/4 ply covering the wheel well.
The shelving insert was designed to be assembled inside the closet and is
40" tall X 19-5/8 wide X 12" deep.
Inside the boards are 15-3/4 apart. The slots that the bin lips slide on are
1/2 high X 3/8 deep and spaced every 5".
I think the photos will show what I left out.
Go for it and enjoy

I really like what you did for the front dinette and the custom counter-top.
Do you have the dimensions for those? I have a very similar Boler and was trying to figure out where to place the Porta-potty. I hope you don't mind that I am planning on using so many of your ideas.

I will definitely credit you if anyone asks.

Brian
