A few years ago I posted this thread title asking how to wire 2 - 6 volt or 2 - 12 volt batteries together. This time I'm thinking of 4 - 6 volt and wondering how to wire properly. My guess is to put 2 - 6 volt in series and the other 2 - 6 volt in series and then wire the two groups of series in parallel. Now that would be a series of parallels if I've got it correct?

You are correct.
It is important though if doing this that the Batteries be the same type and Vintage if possible for it to work in an efficient manor.
