adding a/c under bench

Has anyone added a small window a/c under the rear bench/bed in a BF 17CB?

looking for example with process to confirm (or crash) my thoughts

I don't need or want a rooftop install. I live, and mostly camp, in the PNW. Really just considering something small to cool the trailer after a warm day of travel, plus cooling down before bed on the occasional warm day at the campground

thanks!

The new NuCamp Barefoot fiberglass trailer has a small AC located under a bench, I believe it's the Elwell Air8+

There's several reviews on YouTube of the cute little trailer.

Cool air settles and hot air rises. I recall reading complaints by owners of Parkliners whose under-seat air conditioners didn't do what the owners had hoped. I suppose if you won't see temps above 85F it might do okay for you. The unit will need plenty of ventilation to the outside, to shed the heat; it can't be crammed in with little space around it.

Totally agree Mike.
My install isn't the best but it's good enough . There have been very few days in the last 20 years that it didn't suffice.

At one point i spent a lot of time thinking about how i could cram one under the front bench of my 23’ Scamp. Can’t find links now, but I think it’s been done before with holes cut in the floor for custom ducts/fans to exhaust the condenser heat. I decided it was technically doable, but the logistics of building it into such a cramped space were not going to be worth it to me. I’m in WA so really only needed if we go south in the summer.

My next idea was to build a diy *external* portable AC like this - http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=44561. Then you only need to bring it with you when you think you might need it (which for me is rarely). But so far I’ve been surviving with none of the above.
