Hi all,
I am planning on making a new canopy for my 1972
boler American. "eggbert"
Vintage trailer supply offers three different
awning extrusion profiles. any ideas as to what was original equipment on the
boler? I suspect it was the 90 degree style but have never seen one on. I really don't care what style extrusion is used just looking for any insight as to what causes problems in use. My thought is one of the three styles will be easier to use while a different style may be easier on the fabric on installation and long term use.;
The 180 degree style shows the slot exit in plain with the mounting surface of the extrusion
The 45 degree shows the exit point clocked away from the mounting surface.
the 90 degree extrusion shows the canopy cloth at right angles to the mounting surface.
My guess is the 45 degree extrusion would be the best choice as the slot would be open at the same approximate angle as the pull of the canopy when extended.
Clear as mud?
Opinions, thoughts and examples welcome
Thanks,
Marty
