Amazing Prices on Solar Panels.

I can't believe how much solar panel prices have come down.

Example: 65 watt for $78

Solar Cell, Solar Panel, Solar PV, Solar Products, Charge Controllers, Solar Trackers

Reminds me of the early days of computers. The more manufacturers there are the cheaper they become.

Panels are just getting steadily cheaper. On average lately, almost half the cost per watt of even just a year before. The Economist did a nice little article about it. Their forecast price for 2013 ($0.74/watt) seems pretty dead-on, since some panels were already selling for that price at the end of 2012.

Check this out:
125 Watt 12 volt Solar Panels (Brand New CSA Certified) - Calgary Parts, Accessories For Sale - Kijiji Calgary Canada.

Since it is in Calgary, I may have to try them out.

Good article. I can't wait for fuel cells to replace generators for devices like air conditioners.

I hope you're not holding your breath, Tom - wouldn't want you to suffocate! Fuel cells have been around for decades, and still massive improvements in output and cost per unit output would be needed to make any sense for an air conditioning application. A quiet and efficient power source would be nice, though...

In the mean time, maybe you can run a refrigerator:
EFOY fuel cells by SFC Energy (methanol)
Protonex: Quiet, Clean Power for your RV ( propane! )

Sorry if this is an undesirable side track from solar.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

I'm a realist. Coleman was all set to sell this fuel cell generator 10 years ago - then nothing.

I have made a few buys from Solar Blvd so far and all have been fantastic.
The product is high quality and the service mostly great too.

Recent pricing is almost too good to be true but it is.
I picked up 2 65watt panels for under $150.00 before xmas and now they are down even further, the 55watt seem tough to beat as deals go to me.

So I guess Hell Hath Frozen OVER!!!!

I seem to be agreeing with Tom?
Good thing he can't see it!

Buyer be ware, though! A recent article in the NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/29/bu...anted=all&_r=0) talks about how many Chinese panels are failing after just a few season of use.

I'd worry more if I was putting $20,000 worth of panels on my roof.

Next you'll be claiming that TVs and microwaves sometimes fail.
