Antenna question

I am planning to keep the 16' SD 2005 model in the garage I am sure if I will drop the camper on a wheel dolly, without tires, it will clear off the distance and will go through the 83" tall garage door. The only problem is the antenna. Is anyone ever removed it?

Have you thought about remounting it on some kind of a rotatable mount, so it can be loosened and rotated downward horizontally?

Honestly i didn't climb up there enough to see how it is mounted. The rotating mount with a quick connection would be perfect solution, but i think this setup goes through the sealing... That little adjustable arm on the sealing i think should be open the antenna up, not sure, I have to find out more how was this thing installed

Ok, here is the antenna. Any idea how to remove this, and if it was removed what can I do with the hole?

I'd consider replacing it with something like this, that folds flat when not in use.

specs say that one is 4" high when folded down, I dunno if thats adequate for your clearance.

Inside: Rotate the inner and outer knob to align the slots to undo the allen setscrew holding the knobs on the shaft. It takes a long shaft smaller allen wrench to remove the set screw. (The allen wrench needed is a 3/32")
Outside: Remove the RF cable. Remove sealant that should expose 8 rivets or screws to be removed. Then you should be able remove the antenna. You will need a to make a 6" diameter cover plate to cover the holes in your roof. I made mine out of 3/16 aluminum. In my trailer documents was a manual on the antenna which had a template, or you could make a template from the antenna base. Then reattach your cover plate and seal.
Your antenna is a Delta which is no longer made and seals for it are unavailable. I would select another antenna for use on a removable mast.

I went with this antenna an I'm totally happy with it, very versatile and works in an direction. Yes it is portable and is all carried in a small caring case, look for YouTube videos on this product. https://www.ebay.com/itm/KING-OmniGo...jEvH:rk:3:pf:0
