O.K. I admit that my Uhaul table was not conducive to a relaxed life style. Mostly because I am so fat that I can't get to the seat because of it.

So I cut the mount from underneath it and installed a heavy duty drawer slide. Now I can get past it with ease even if it is in backwards.

That is a neat idea! If I still had the Burro, I think we might use that idea. With our UHaul being 16' though, I confess, I have become lazy. In the Burro, we built a front dinette and then took the bed down every day to give us more space. This would have been much easier! With the UHaul VT, I started out doing taking the bed down every day. Now, I am lazy and do not take the bed down at all.

Damn, you're good!I'm going to steal your idea for the slide for our Boler, except sideways. With only 2 of us most of the time,we could push the table side-to-side,making it real easy to sit down.Great, thanks!!!

Similar idea, different approach. Our table slide is made of plywood with a thick layer of candle wax to lubricate the surfaces that glide past each other. That makes a slide that will move when given a firm push, but won't slide back and forth on a whim.

Hi Rick,
Have you made your table slide? I'm curious to know how well it works. Question... wouldn't it be super-sliddy/unstable when using it? Is there a mechanism to "lock" the drawer slide in place?

Thanks!

Hi: Judith Kennedy... I'm glad that 5.0& 19ft. Escapes come equipped with a sliding table. The 5.0 is for/ aft and the 19ft. is side to side.
