Beachcomber TM15 Studs

I could use a little help. I have totally gutted my 1978 TM15. I have replaced the plywood floor with new and now I am replacing the rotted-out 1x3 studs. I have a lot of cedar kicking around. Will replacing the old spruce studs with cedar work or is cedar too soft and not structural enough?

If the cedar is structurally sound it should be acceptable in replacing your spruce studs. Both are softwoods with similar densities.
