I'm about to embark on the same rebuild project and I have some questions if you dont mind.

-Is there a retailer for that aluminum foam or do you order directly from the supplier? - What Size blue wood did you use for the floor and walls, ex. 2x4
- Did you bond the blue wood to the shell with the PL300?
- Where did you order from / how did you fix your broken door handle and lock?
- When you did the fiberglass repair on the floor did you need to vaccum bag it? or did you just lay up FG and smear resin on it?
- Did you anyone ever agree on the stock tire size for these trailers?

Thanks a bunch

Kyle

The aluminum foam comes from a company in the Toronto area called Cymat
CYMAT The blue wood was 1"X3" and was sold at Lowes.
I used PL but you have to get the one that is compatible with fibreglass.
As for the door latch I made one from metal, the door lock have done nothing with yet because replacement lock cylinders are not available for these old door handles, if you look on ebay however new ones pop up now and again.
Fibreglass was layed down and then smeared resin as you say, stock tire size is 14"

I hope this helps, gl on your build and keep us up to date on your progress.

Rick.

So what did it set you back?

Rick, I loved the detail and the rebuild looks great. Owning an identical trailer (pre rebuild) I was wondering what you would estimate the total rebuild set you back. I realize this is a best guess. If you can break it out by areas that would be awesome. ie
Total: $3,000
Fiberglass work $300
frame& tires $1,000
interior cabinets etc $1700

The reason I ask is I am trying to decide if I am better to sell and upgrade or if this work would be reasonable and achieve what I want. (which is really a bigger main bed and better layout)

finally if you have already mentioned it just direct me to the page. 8 page of notes means I didn't read it all.

I know that considerable time has passed since you posted about having ordered replacement felt window slider seals for your windows but do you recall where you ordered them and a description of what to order? Thanks.

Brenda, just purchased a 1979 Beachcomber TM15. Had about 4" of water in it for quite an extended period. Gonna be a complete gut job (first project). Windsor plywood has the actual paneling used in RVs. Quite reasonably priced I thought. Small trailer wont take too much material. Just joined this site and will post some pics if I can figure out how to do it.
Cheers, Andy.
