Boler roof vent

ok

Next

Going to put on a new, bigger roof vent...still have the old 9 by 9 one. Does anyone know if any 12 inch or 14 inch vent will work? Or do I need a specific one to accommodate such a thin room as the boler?

Absolutely, it's quite common. I have a Fantastic Fan in mine.
If you have any electrical ability you can wire in your own dpdt switch to make it reversible rather than pay the extra to have it pre-wired at the factory.

No problem, just enlarge the roof opening towards the center and forward, this keeps the mounting area in the flattest section. Seal the new vent with butyl putty and fasten to the roof with either pop rivets or #8 machine screws & nuts.

Good advice from Ian. I'd use the screws and nuts. You want to fully compress the putty to get a good seal.

I'm also in the same bind - trying to find a suitable replacement for my original 9x9 roof vent. Any suggestions on where to get the best price for a fantastic fan in Ontario?

Hi: tonypvjr... I blew the budget, bought local from my RV Guy,for our former Boler.
At least on the mid 70's Bolers they used the standard 14X14 vent...so it fit right in. Fished the 12V wires under the Ensolight liner. Best mod I did on that trailer. MaxxFan 3spd. reversible, smoked hood model in 2006.

... or just build your own, mine uses a fraction of the power (0.2 Amps) and is stealth quiet (less than 20 db). Power Roof Vent - The Complete Guide to 13' Boler Fiberglass Trailers
