I'd love to do this for my uhaul camper. I'm interested to see what others say.
My best idea right now was to get some soft netting like those tent like screen rooms have. Thought I'd make two curtains for right inside the door and sew magnets into it to keep it closed but easy to separate. Haven't done it yet; on other projects right now.
Over the years I've used netting of different types etc. in jury rigged attempts to keep bugs out. I have to say that the bi-fold screen door on my Scamp is absolutely perfect. Both in ease of operation and for keeping bugs out.
There are some ads for netting with magnets closing a vertical center seam but I don't if they're as good as the bi-fold door.

Funny thing that Sean thought of useing netting, just tonight on a glamping group I am on someone posted a Shabby Chic screen door. Not sure this would work with either of your trailer decor, but you might be able to expand on the idea and find something that works for you. I think the magnet idea is probably smart to keep it from blowing in the breeeeeze!
I have just recently prepared one of those screens you have seen advertised on TV where the magnets snap the two pieces shut, for my Trill 4500. It had to be made smaller to fit the door and I sewed a channel at the bottom for a row of marbles to keep the wind from constantly blowing it around. It is soft screening material.
It is hanging from the top velcroed to a curtain rod, and to the sides as well.

The UHaul came with a zip open screen inside the outer door. I still have mine, but I took it off as it is hard to open and close. It was attached with Velcro around the perimeter of the door.
"Magic Mesh"......that's it! I couldn't remember the name, but you're right, Jim. It is called Magic Mesh. I just sewed up the sides alittle so it fit the door better, cut off the excess length and added a row of marbles across the bottom to weigh it. I don't know how long it will last as I put it up last week.

At the last NOG I saw a trailer with the majic mesh and it seemed to work very nice, and it would be way easier to do.
