Busy busy busy weekend

I planned to work on my uhaul all weekend and I did!

I had a list of stuff I wanted to get done.

LED light inside. When I saw the old wires I had to replace lots more than I thought. The old ones were in bad shape. It's pretty now.

Rear jack stands

Cooler up front. Just placed it in and tightened. It actually is in there and I can't pull it out. I will use the water in it to wash hands and what not.

New center seam

Clean entire camper with BKF and then 4 coats of ZEP. I am really impressed with how it came out

I had a wire basket off the bumper. I cut the basket off and used the 2 brackets to make a nice cedar deck. Lol it not really a deck but it makes a nice seat or work table. Prepare food on it ect. It's just nice to have another table.

I finally put in my custom mattress I made. It is 4 inch memory foam on top of our old cushins sealed in a waterproof mattress.

My floor is in

Some new stickers

Also a handful of other things.

I am pooped. I need a beer

Looks good. I plan on doing something like your floor. Did you put plywood subfloor down or the standard floating floor foam and just go over it.

I just went over it but I am gonna put down a subfloor. I made a stencil of the floor which made it easier to cut the floor

When you are down to the original Uhaul floor you should replace the body to frame bolts as they usually are rusted away where they pass through the floor. Awhile ago I replaced all the ones I could get at in the storage areas, now we have the carpet out to install new so I'll replace the bolts that are in the center of the trailer.

Funny but that is next on the list.

You talk about putting in a sub floor so I wonder in my original assumption that you put in a laminate floor was wrong. Is that a vinyl floor?

It is a single sheet of vinyl. I can take it out in and out with ease. it looks great and to me made the most sense. plus when it gets beat up I will use it as a stencil and cut a new one. I am glad that the faux wood look fooled you.

I have a sheet of vinyl, too. Very practical, but I wish I'd leveled the floor better underneath.

I am hoping that a sub floor will help

My concern is creating a moisture trap. Wet floors seems to be the death of these trailers. Maybe some kind of a mesh would level it but allow any water to evaporate.

Dri-Dek, also many other brands available. Rough on bare feet, but you can put a rug over it.
