Bye Bye Bunk Beds

We have a 1979 SurfSide Trillium. Got rid of the folding table so we could get a custom mattress. Now we have a great guy who just removed the bunks and added these shelves, two storage benches, the live edge table and fantastic flooring. Getting the cushions done now. So much more room and just way more practical for the two of us. Pulled the old fridge out to create more storage. Will be doing a bit of painting and its going to be fantastic. I'd recommend this guy if you're in Southern Ontario. His background is converting horse trailers into little living spaces with cowboy showers etc. Build Create Repair. Can't wait for next season!

Southern Ontario? So glad to have someone else close to home. Im in St Catharines area. I just bought 72 Trillium 1300 that needs some love. My bunk beds and kitchen were removed by previous owner so I’m trying to rebuild. Who’s your guy? Looks like good work and creative ideas. -Almost ready to roll.

Jeff Taplay from BCR Build Create Repair. (905) 515-4778.

Great guy, timely, did three quotes with different ideas of what I wanted. Brought his own generator and did it all on site. Could have brought it to his garage but opted to do it on our lot.

He has all kinds of great ideas. We'll hook up with him again next year for the next pieces of work we want to do.

Feel like we hit a gold mine!
Best of luck

Beth, Is you kitchen gone, or are the appliances missing? If you need the fibreglass replaced, then I can help you deal with the guys in Calgary that make Outback / Trillium trailers. They have the original molds.

Beth, I have dealt with them over several years. We had a falling out, and I have not spoke to them for a couple of years now. Joe Thoen, and his son Reese make 13' Trillium trailers about 15 min. from my house. They can do quality work. Joe is very friendly, but he has some idiosyncrasies. Search this site for Trillium / Outback and Joe Thoen. You will see what I mean.

Their web page is:
Trillium Trailers

Had an old propane fridge that didn't keep things cold at all and it was super expensive to replace it. With the recent renos we got new propane lines and still have the space so may replace it next season. The shelves can come out easily. We haven't been towing it and we are in a site with no electric so we have a pretty good system with coolers. Reading some of the feedback here on this site helped to make the decision to go without for now. Ideally we will put in solar in the next few years and that will shift the thinking.
