Casita entry step

Can someone advise me on purchasing the best entry step for a Casita 2006 SD. Best experience attaching and using. Thanks

We replaced our 2023 Casita Liberty trailer OEM Entry Door Single Step with a Little House Customs Entry Door Double Step. Installation was easy/trivial and we have been happy with it.

Yep, LHC is often out of stock. I would suggest giving Amanda a call to get an estimated availability date and get on their wait list. They have been dependable and easy to work with.

If you call, verify whether it will work on your 16'er, which may not have exactly the same frame configuration under the door. Also, I think you probably need the high lift axle for the double step entry. OEM is single.

Yep, LHC use to specify what Casita trailer configurations were acceptable for their step, but it would be wise to confirm with them when ordering. Our Casita is the 17' Liberty model and has the Dexter 3,500 pound TORFLEX 10 degree down axle AKA "High Lift Axle" that Casita trailer would often include for free if requested when ordering the trailer.

Have you contacted Casita? They can tell you or sell you one. We are happy with our original step. In some places if you have to level up by lifting your trailer on the street side a double step may not fold out. A 2006 Casita may not have a high lift axle and that would complicate it. Our 2007 Casita had to be ordered with a high lift axle. Otherwise they came with just the lower one.
