Casita Paper Towel Rack

Anyone figured out a better place to mount the parer towel holder in a Casita. I got so tired of it taking up all of the space in the cabinet above the stove that i removed it. But i can't seem to find a better place for it. At first i was going to mount it directly on the side of of the hood (for the stove) but it looks like it will interfere with the workings of the blinds.

Any good ideas....

Thanks...

awesome location despite Charles' hand wringing. I worked on this for 4 months till I came up with something convenient without being intrusive.

I mounted mine on the right outside edge of the towel rack over the end of the bed.

I would be afraid of installing it at your location due to it being directly over the stove burners.

I did not word that correctly.

I mounted mine on the right outside edge of the VENT HOOD.

I used sheet metal screws.

Phil >>awesome location despite Charles' hand wringing

Arghhhhh!! Fire waiting to happen! Fire waiting to happen! :)

I'm sorry Phil. I couldn't resist. And it still scares me, even though you assured me that you remove the roll of paper towels before igniting the stove top!

If I tried that, I'd forget to remove the roll of paper towels ... and after igniting the roll, would think something along the lines of "Gee, I probably should have removed the roll of paper towels before lighting the stove!"

Overall, though, I remain impressed with your impressive list of improvements to your fiberglass wonder, Phil!

Towel Rack

I relocated mine to where Mike put his; on the right, outside of the range hood. I placed it almost flush with the front of the hood, that is. set back about 1/4 in. Plenty of room to get at the blinds. Does cut into the room at the table seat on that side, but since I leave the TV on the shelf, there really isn't room for more than one person on that side anyhow. In my humble opinion, better than inside the hood, but still in a vaguely shakey spot near the stove. I used rivets.

no offense taken guys

and I appreciate the concern..but my towels stay!!! I pretty much just boil water on the stove...no char-grilling or flambe's inside!!!! Let common sense and personal responsibility prevail!!!!!!

Phil, you know we love you!

I know a guy and gal who once lit a charcoal fire inside their little fiberglass trailer .. because there was a National Forest ban on campfire and charcoal fires outside.

So to get around it, they lit the charcoal inside the trailer and cooked some rolls in a Dutch Oven inside the rig.

That's right ... lit the charcoal ... and cooked in a Dutch oven ... INSIDE

I couldn't give them any grief ... because they were cooking the rolls for me. :) :)

I did, however, hook up my trailer in case I had to make a quick get-away if their rig caught fire!

Paper towels

Thanks for all of the great ideas everyone. I decided to mount it on the outside of the vent hood. It's looks nice and it's not in the way. Plus i now have a lot more space in the cabinet...

Thanks everyone
