We decided to take a break from our dinette project 'cause we needed to do some thinking about the table details. While working on the dinette we were thinking about how we were going to do the shelving we wanted in the closet.
As shown in the picture below we added a lower access door. The opening was trimmed with
scamp fiberglass edge trim. By calling
Scamp we discovered this product is is something they have made for them. (Cost is $2.50 per 4ft stick....plus shipping, OUCH!....so try to bundle with other order needs.)
We decided to go with the adjustable track type shelf supports with wire rack shelves.
Four support tracks, 3ft long each were mounted vertically on the side walls of the closet; two toward the front and two to the rear of the closet. We used three machine screws from the out side with nylon core locking nuts inside on each track. Be sure to take the position of the shelf cross wires into account when positioning the the vertical tracks
. We used the small bases and finish caps to dress the exposed screw heads.
