Cracked scamp ice box frame

The image you see below is the bottom right corner hinge of the icebox. It's developed a crack over many, many years. This now causes the door to fall off while traveling. My first thought is to use several sheets of fiberglass and epoxy behind it to repair and strengthen the crack. Any thoughts on other ways to perform this repair so my fridge will return to working order? I'd also be open to buying a new ice box if anyone has one or knows where to get one.

If you search amazon for "plastic repair kit" they sell this thing (20-30 bucks) that looks like a soldering iron. They heat up little metal staples and you can sink them in from the back. Just make sure all glue is cleaned off, and practice on some similar plastic to see how long you need to heat the staples for. I had an ice box with the same issue and did fix it, but then replaced it with a 3 way fridge, I made a video on YT about the install.
