Damaged step

Anyone been there entrance step and how did you fix it??

If it is really mangled, you'll probably be ahead of the game to just replace it. Measure it well, because they all kinda look alike, but are offered in different sizes. A new replacement one can be sourced at most on-line trailer/RV parts sellers.

As an aside, I replaced my single entry step on my Casita to help getting in and out of the trailer. My wife has sciatica and has had back surgery. The extra step makes it less of an ordeal to just go in and out.

I managed to not only bend the step mechanism, but the screws came out of the step facade that covers the mechanism while the steps are retracted.
I bent the mechanism back into shape with brute strength and some leverage. Then I mounted a metal plate to the back side of the facade piece. I drilled holes and used new screws to re-mount the facade.
Next I installed a defeat switch on the steps so I can prevent them from extending into a curb.
