Dangling feet and other mods…..

Having shorter legs Josie’s feet tend to dangle off the bed and side seat in our Scamp. So I came up with a cantilevered take-apart stool to go over the wheel well and a step with shoe storage for in front of the bed. We also added a table overlay with back splash. It extends the length by 6” and the width by 2”; it’s just some ¼” ply with laminate and decorative wood edge this way we can have both laptops and coffee cups on the table at the same time. When traveling the top lies on the bed out of the way. Other things we have done were making overlay sink and cooktop covers and change out the faucet. Along with the covers we build a removable shelf at the end of the bed for our copy machine and other assorted items. We leave the shelf up as we travel and find that the mattress holds it in place. Another item was a shelf above where Josie sits for all the chargers camera, phone etc. and also a 110 v outlet to plug them in. The last mod was to change out curtain rod brackets with wooden ones and tension rods.

Home Depot / Glacier Bay Brand
Item # 886-323 it's a laundry sink pull out faucet. The cost was around $39.00 and went in like a charm. As per Donna d recommendation I removed the sink, very easy 4 wing nuts . The routing of the pullout hose took a little time to figure out but all and all easy job for a change.

Nice mods. I like that table cover/extender. How to you connect it to keep it on for traveling or does it, too, ride on the bed?

The table travels on the bed, the splash is loose and slides into place between the bottom of the window and the top to help stabilize it and fits snuggle.

I'll have to go and check it out at a store. According to my online search I cannot buy just the faucet. I have to buy the entire laundry sink, and oh-by-the-way they'll include the faucet in the package deal for only $99.00!

I also went on line in July looking for a faucet like this at many sites including HD and Lowes and found nothing we where happy with. Josie and I where at HD one afternoon for another project and thought we'ed also take a look in plumbing and see what they had on display and there it was it came home with us.

The floor turned out great and is so much easier to take care of instead of the carpet. We have completed our present projects at this point. We will be starting a new to do list Tuesday as we begin our trip to New Jersey.
