Deeper sink for Casita

I wonder if anyone has a link to a deeper sink that will fit a Casita? If anyone has done this do you like it or regret it. I did it on my current stick and tin camper but it required cutting a bigger hole and I had to hire a plumber to modify the drain and P-trap.

If he doesn’t chime in, search for old threads by “Casita Greg.” He details installing a deeper sink in his 17SD.

Counter space can be at a real premium. Getting a sink that's deeper but doesn't take up much more, if any, surface area would be important to me. THIS sink is not cheap, but fits the bill (to me) and besides, it's a one and done. IF you shop around, you can find some places that are selling it for about half of what other stores are asking. Good luck!

We just purchased a new 2025 Casita Independence Deluxe with the deep sink.

While that works for the Indy model, it won't work in the SD or FD model.
This is what i installed in my 17 SD to replace the silly all-but-useless "bird bath" sink that the trailer came with. It's a Krowne 1419 model. And while I was at it I also replaced the less than stellar Suburban stove which had a dismal performance, especially trying to do a low simmer without sputtering out.

Greg, very nice mod for updating an older Casita. The factory now offers the deep sink, hepo valves, and decent stoves. But again this is on new units. You have always been extremely helpful over the years on updates

The factory now offers many of the innovations and upgrades originally done by the forum members over the years. Yes, they read about all these mods too! I guess imitation is the truest form of flattery.

Casita Greg did all the hard work so credit to him. I'm in the process of installing the deeper sink. I think the profile of the sink's edge has changed (looking at Greg's install pictures) and I found a few things. The faucet rides on the edge and I had to elongate the two holes in the sink to get the faucet to sit flush. The width of the existing cut out is slightly bigger than the with of the new sink. The new sink is longer and I had to extend the cutout. I'll try and post pictures of the faucet "riding" on the sink edge before I elongated the holes and after.
