Developing source for ensolite or alternative

When I was investigating a source for insulation for our Compact Junior , I choose to buy product from escape industries. It is an open cell foam with a white vinyl surface. I received several samples of closed cell foam from Norseman Allfoam,Norseman Inc. - fabric buildings, construction tarps & foam, bulk packaging, Coverall buildings, I talked to a sales rep on the phone who was willing to help. How much demand to you think a source of closed cell foam with a vinyl surface could be generated by the market, to encourage a company to look at developing a product? I think of Norseman everytime some one asks a question of Ensolite. I didn't even think about asking when it was just for me but maybe there is a market.

I would think you'd also want to post this information on Bolerama, since there's a huge following of Bolers and Trillium owners there.

Also, I wonder if Escape would be interested. I'm only speaking for myself here, but I would always rather have a closed-cell product than an open-celled one for this type of application. Perhaps they would have chosen and/or would choose closed-cell if one were available.

Roger C H said that vinyl-coated Ensolite was available, and posted a source, but I was not able to find it from his link - so that is another option.

In terms of companies to check with about making it, IR Foam Specialty (Washington, US) is another place that makes a lot of foam, including uncoated Ensolite.

Hi Donna,

I did check that out in Roger's other post. I was also posting in that thread, just prior to his post, and I had just said that neither I nor anyone else had, as of yet, been able to find the coated Ensolite -- but that there was a source for uncoated Ensolite (IR Foam Specialty, from which I had obtained samples), which could be painted.

Roger replied that:

I went to the link he included in that post but I was not able to find the vinyl-coated Ensolite he spoke of. I asked him about it but was never quite able to get an exact link or product. Am I missing it right in front of my nose? I no longer (currently) have a need to find the coated Ensolite, but I know that many people would love to. And if I ever find a Compact Jr. --- I might be looking again too.
