Door Catch

I'm in the process updating our new to us Boler and am looking for suggestions.

I have two doors under the sink where I've installed the original door latches at the top of the doors. In that location my forehead has interacted with the pointy end of the stationary part too often.
Anyone have ideas for replacements of a work around for this?

Work around: Dont bend over so far.

But seriously.. those latch catches look mean. Looks like they are just out to cause trouble any chance they get.

Any number of common cabinet door latches available at any hardware store would be better I think.

I went with very strong spring loaded door hinges and for cabinets with heavy stuff on the shelf some tension bars inside the opening.

I decided to use just a standard catch on these doors. They seem to hold well enough on the few trips we made this year.

Pop out latch

Got these cool latches off of Amazon for my closet and cabinet doors.

They pop in to latch and pop out to pull open. I've only had them installed this season but they're working well.

Only "catch" is you have to drill a hole to mount them through your door panel.

Might consider using rare earth magnets... I’ve never tried them but have heard great things from those that have

So, when the earth's polarity reverses, will all your cupboard doors open?

From the web: When the reversed patches grow to the point that they dominate the rest of the core, Earth's overall magnetic field flips. The last reversal happened 780,000 years ago during the Stone Age, and indeed there's evidence to suggest the planet may be in the early stages of a pole reversal right now.

I don't think there is any reason that you could not move the catch to the bottom of the door or lower down along the side. You won't get arrested by the FGRV police for moving it.

When the reversal happens I wouldn't want to be near the west coast...
