Dorm fridge finally online

Some more pix of dorm fridge install in Burro 17. I will not add the Reflectix insulation until I monitor the temperature of the fridge shell. Someone here suggested that these small fridges bleed exchanger heat thru the steel shell. I have not established if this be true. Compresser is obvious in picture; cooling coils are not! Couple puppy pix also: one is absolutely no help and the other is high maintenance. Guess which is which?

Looks like a nice, clean install. I hope it works perfectly for your needs. Thanks for sharing the pics... of the pups too

RE: Dorm Fridge
Do you have a vent at the top of the refrigerator coils, it has to have somewhere for the heat to escape.

Bob, there is no opening or louvre in the shell top or sides. Rear is a plasticized, corrugated panel above the compressor. Only open area is lower half of back. Fridge has been on high cool for four hours plus (just returned from turning down to a lower setting) and is not warm to the touch. The Reflectix wrap is Velcroed on and can be applied thru the lower vent.

Thanks for looking, Donna. I know you are an equal opportunity "cheerleader" but that doesn't mean we don't all enjoy being appreciated. I woulda stuck with the Dometic if I coulda but I couldna "keep my kool" around the darn thing. I admire the planning, patience, and perseverance of those who can deal with a small 3-way!

We discussed insulating the outside of fridges in the Texas desert and we too think insulating the outside cabinet holds heat against the fridge.
