Here's the bed as originally designed:
It is either all dinette (seats six) or all bed, and ask you can see, when it is bed, you kind of have to climb in from the kitchen.
Since the bed was about 72 x 76, I decided I could easily sleep side-to-side. So I turned the two large cushions sideways (kind of squished them a bit at the ends) and rolled the extra memory foam topper to fill the remaining gap, and made a nice almost full-sized bed. That left 2x2 seats towards the back. Right now, in the photos, one has a dog bed on it and the other has a quilt on it, but they will eventually have
Casita dinette cushions.
It's still a bit messy as the under-bed space is packed for traveling: chair, Ez-up, and RV mat, and on top of the bed I have the nice throw Janine won in a raffle that is being used to keep the bed clean until bedtime. But it works great, and except for having to inform Jack that he can no longer sleep at my feet but has to be on one side or the other, it fits great.
I want to do two more things: one, cut the storage space cover so that the back third opens separately and can be accessed with the bed in place, and two, put a plywood board and a "real" mattress over the bed part. Plywood board to level the sleeping surface, and a mattress that fills the space. (About 52 x 72, though I have not measured exactly.)
Oh, and find a small table that can be used in the seating area.
