Easy DIY Door Lock Mods for Scamp, Boler, Casita, and other small trailers.

Hi, All. I forgot to post this video we made on modifying or replacing the older-style door latches to be able to lock the door from the inside. We also have a video on replacing the stabilizers coming pretty soon. Hope it helps someone! Enjoy!

+1 for method #1. I did that on my 13' Scamp - works great!

Just go gently with the drill/driver. Many people go full blast on them and strip the screw holes. I prefer to put screws back in by hand so I can feel for the existing "threads" cut in the fiberglass, wood, metal or plastic. If it starts hard, you need to back it up and try again.

Well done video, short and sweet, thank you.

My 2004 came with the pin and chain as shown as option #1 in the video. When traveling, the pin swinging on the chain would make the rat fur dirty. I solved it with a small magnet that stays on the metal cover of the lock and when not locking from inside, the pin is held in place, not swinging freely.
