Entry Door Garnish

Greetings!

Inquiry #2: The garnish/surrounding plastic thingmabobber on the entry door window is very sun-damaged. I would like to replace it, but I cannot find anything remotely close to that size... 12" x 27" outside measurements. I sent a message to the Casita bigwigs, but crickets thus far. Any suggestions would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Chris

Is it plastic or metal? Whatever it was manufactured by the window manufacturer, not Casita and doubtful they have just that piece in the parts supply.

I'd take the window and and paint the part. But, that's just me.

It's definitely plastic. Yes, I may just remove it and paint it to further its existence from sun blasting.

Thank you!

Uhg

My door window garnish is 12x27. On further inspection of this door window garnish, I have noticed that it is cracked in a few places. I have a feeling that when I remove it to paint it, it may just crumble apart. In addition, I don't know if I feel comfortable painting over something that sun-damaged (I was informed the original owner lived in Arizona and didn't cover it). Anyway, I have looked high and low, near and far on the trusty Internet; however, the closest I have found is 12x21. Getting a whole, new door is pretty costly, and I don't know if I have the tools/ability to install one. If anyone has any ideas/leads on where I could get a garnish, it would be much appreciated.

Egg on!

Door Garnish Reversal

When taking the window and garnish out to paint, the outside garnish broke in a few places, nearly falling apart. I managed to epoxy the broken parts, keeping it together to paint. I painted it, but still didn't like the aesthetic of cracks, so I put the window back in backwards, with the screws on the outside, and it doesn't look too bad. I was careful to seal each screw with silicone. I think as long as I keep UV treatment on this new side, it should last.
