Fantastic Fan repair

Hi all. Without going into too much detail, I managed to rip the red wire completely out of my fantastic fan motor housing. Any thoughts on how/if it can be repaired? Or do I have to invest in a new one? Thanks.

Well, with out actually trying it, most motors can be disassembled. Find where the wire terminated, and either splice onto what is left of the original wire, or solder on a new one.

I suspect that is a permanent magnet DC motor which is about as simple as they get. However, disassambly may not be so simple. Back in the good old days they had screws for that purpose. Today, maybe not. If you can get it apart without loosing springs and things, you can solder a new wire in. Fortune favors the bold. Good luck, Raz

Of not, you can probably get the motor assembly cheaper than a whole fan.
