Got the curtain rods painted, and Joan bought new curtain material.
Question: "what's the best way to seal the holes when I drill for new stainless fasteners?"
I really don't want to use silicone. It causes too many problems later when it's time to refinish the outside. Next is the cushions. We should be getting the material next week.

I really like Gary Little's solution...no holes to the outside:

Hi Donna!
I'd love to do that without exterior holes, but that means I'd have to redo the interior. I can't see that in the foreseeable future. These were some rods which I reconditioned. they were origonally sold be Sears ann Eatons in the 70's. They are made from aluminum so can be easily shaped to match the ends in the Boler.

If I understood Gary's approach properly...

I don't think it would require a interior redo. Just cut out a small rectangular spot of ensolite and glue in a piece of plywood to screw into in its place. If the plywood is painted to match (and especially if covered by the curtains!) it shouldn't be too noticable.

I used a similar approach in my PlayPac. I glued in (construction adhesive) plywood blocks (which I later covered with carpet) to attach curtain rods to. Worked fine. The blocks were less than 1"x2". Just have to make sure they're in the right place.

I looked at gary's post and I'm convinced. I'm going to paint some pieces of fiberboard and some piecesof plywood and see if I can colour-match the cloth material, Not ensolite, on the walls. it's more like ratfur. What a GREAT site. The ideas just keep on commin. Would love to redo the outside but it'll have to waite a while. It looks good at 50 feet.
