Has Anyone Taken Apart A Rock Guard?

We have a 4500 Trillium and I’m going to spruce up the rock guards to match the newly renovated body. I’ll have lots of cleaning and some FG work to do and want to take the panels right out. I’ve removed the screws (as circled) and the ‘H’ bars didn’t budge. Any suggestions?

Here are the photos. I want to save the original panels and will have the logo repainted.

I completely dis-assembled the rock guard frame on my Trillium 4500 in order to replace the panels. Mine did not have the screws that you have circled.

Do you remember how you got your panels out?

Yes, I completely dis-assembled the aluminum frame components surrounding all three panels. As I recall, it required some force to separate the aluminum frame corner joints (the 45 degree joints).

Undoing the screws releases the dividers, but that is all. I gave up trying to get a corner to come apart and ended up cutting one corner. Then slid everything out. To mend the corner I cut aluminum triangles and riveted them over the four corners to make it look like part of the design.

Some people have been able to do the "dance" that allows them to remove everything, but I have no idea how that works.

best of luck
