Inside foam?

Anybody know what that material is and how to get it replaced? What paint to use on it?

FGRVs are manufactured with various wall coverings. Can you post pics to give us an idea as to what yours is?

Thanks John. I havent taken a specific picture of it yet and it's in my friends garage where we are working on it. But some pictures anyways... It's a 1973 Unik made in Québec. The previous owner told me that someone before him mad used the wrong kind of paint so it sort of streched/shrunk, then he used a different type of paint. Can't remember what it is. I'm wondering how easy would it be to replace or what can I use to do so...or maybe just paint it to make it cleaner.

Simon, you have Ensolite on your walls. Ensolite has a black closed cell foam backing and a very sturdy flexible textured covering. You can try to scrub it clean.

If you decide to paint it, do what others have done on this forum. Use a high quality acrylic latex primer and then an acrylic latex exterior paint. Fill seams and cuts with acrylic latex caulk.

Before priming, the wall surface should be cleaned aggressively with a scrub brush. We have used Scrubbing Bubbles, Krud Kutter, etc. The final cleaning is with TSP. (My DW even resorted to using a steamer.)

EDIT: In our Boler 13, we actually prepped and painted as described above. In our Trillium 4500, we cleaned and steamed, but did not paint as the ensolite was/is in great condition.

Can ensolite without the sturdy/flexible covering be used and still painted? I'm doing a similar project and have been unable to find ensolite that isn't just the black foam.
