Alright so here’s where we ended up. It’s not pretty but does the trick! Also have the flex mount one installed to test it as well. Will see which wins the day

Im sure there are other brands for cheaper. I just hope that installers poo-pooing suction cups are not thinking of the old kind used to hold up a sign! These guys are used to put bicycles on cars, i think they can probably handle a camera as long as the surface you are using is fairly smooth. With all that said, i am NOT using this product currently, but i wouldnt hesitate to

I installed rear Camera in the center on my rear rack. The Camera is powered off of a wifi transmitter that's connected to the driving lights. This way I can observe traffic behind the camper while driving on an old cellphone via a wifi connection. I also mount the cellphone to my rearview mirror while the camper is connected. This way its intuitive. I also switched out the mini antenna from the transmitter for an remote unit mounted to the front tongue for better reception.

Good luck. Click image for larger version

Good to keep in mind. I would like to place 4 of these pointing in all directions, with motion sensor ability to keep track of people around me. Keep an eye on my truck bed or my solar panels etc.

Especially when i am out of the RV for awhile. And of course night vision is a big plus.

I had a camera many years ago watching a bird's nest in the carport under the eve of my house for my kid's benefit. It was cool to watch the parents fly in and feed the little ones, then fly back out for more bugs. A lot of work I can tell you that.

And then we watched a snake which had climbed up the inside of the brick pillar and snatched a little bird. Traumatizing for the kids. Life's lessons...

I moved the nest, put it in a hanging plant basket and moved it out to a hanger in the carport ceiling. It took a looooong time for the parents to notice their kids chirping away in hunger and frustration just 6 feet away from where the nest used to be. They eventually did. And no more snakes.

Best of luck.
Dave & Paula
I also wanted to avoid adding holes to the shell and mounted a camera inside just as Dave and Paula. I fabricated a simple clip that mounts on the rear sliding window frame so it is easy to remove the camera when we're at the campsite. Works well for us.

Costco had a wireless backup camera that was great. The camera mounts to your license plate holder. The camera is solar powered, and it also has a screen that is usb powered. No wires to run, easy connection. I like mine a lot.
