I have installed floating Pergo style floors in my last 2 campers. In the NestEgg I installed them lengthwise and I was not too pleased with the result. In the Lance I installed them crosswise and it turned out nice, no seams visible. No I'm thinking about installing the new floor at a 45 degree angle, just to make it more visibly interesting. Anyone ever done this or foresee any problems I maybe missing. I need 34 sq feet and I bought 2 boxes that cover 24 sq feet each, so I have plenty of excess due to the extra cutting involved. Any ideas would be helpful?

A 45 degree pattern will have more waste and the corners are a little more challenging. For example in the second picture notching around the cabinet is more difficult than either side to side or lengthwise; requiring some hand saw work. And because you have told us, we'll want pictures.

You brought up a good point, these install with a lip and you then have to hammer them into the other piece for a good fit, something that may be hard to do on a outside corner. I'll have to practice with a piece first, thanks again for the thought.

I installed a floating laminate wood floor this morning in my Scamp
Since you have done the same thing in 2 other trailers, I would assume it holds up well but have you had any moisture related problems in the entry and sink area

no issues, if needed you can seal the edge with some colored caulk any place you may be worried.

No, you have a chisel type installation tool for wood floors that allow you to pull along the edges or hammer if need be to tighten up the floor, it pulls only the edges so any damage is hidden by the next plank, there is also a flat piece you use between the floor and hammer to move pieces into place, that is what I was referring to. What're the dimensions you're working with in your Escape, as compared to those in that picture?

I believe the passage way is 32" and then 48" to the door screen. It is 10' long.

Bring back the pergo and look into Karndean vinyl planks, easy to install, better for areas with moisture, and the designs are endless.

Basic rule of thumb for "Wood" flooring:

The strips should always run in the same direction as the primary light source. Having the light hit the strips at a right angle will exacerbate any imperfections and/or warps.

That said, in our Lil' Bigfoot I installed strips at the entry, from the door to the cabinets, crosswise to the coach. The strips going towards the back are at a right angle and run lengthwise to the chassis. You will get all your front to back joints at the same point, but they will be under the table by then.

Here are some pictures of the install, got it done today, Still need 3 strips of moulding and do some caulking around the perimeter. There are no nails or screws, this floor can be removed if needed without any damage to the existing vinyl factory floor.
