from 1975? I doubt it (unless you get no bounce at all) but I don't know enough about the original to say. Perhaps others will chime in.
But lets look at this at another angle. Regardless of how old it is, does it need to be replaced? Ian's guide can be some help:

Thank you. Ian’s site really is awesome. I will do the tests for evaluating my axle when I put on the road wheels. I put tiny wheels on it to allow me to roll it into my garage.
