I did the same kind of bumper mod on a car once.

Was reworking an AMC Pacer. The original front bumper was horrid but I found a nice front bumper at the wreckers from a 73 Buick. Like you I had to cut and reshape a bit but in the end it looked great. The car and bumper are still on the road being used today.
LOL too cool Wayne, That was a lot of work to customize it to that extent, a Pacer that looks good, and your bumper looks great.
Never thought I would say a Pacer looks cool

Wow awesome job on the Pacer. I had a red Pacer X way back when but it did not look anything like your finished product. If I know it could look COOL I might have kept it and modified it like yours.

Not really an upgrade or modification.
Just bought "new-ish" transportation while camping.

Hi Fran
Our new Escape 19' is equipped with a rear receiver so it will accept a rack on the back. The Boler I will have to design something, but probably a similar design, then get a light weight aluminum scooter rack that I can swap between the 2 trailers

A while ago I posted about the bumper we made by sectioning the front and rear bumpers from a 1954 Jaguar Mk II to fit the rear of the Boler. Since then I have been checking out rechroming facilities across Canada & the US investigating prices and quality of workmanship. So tonight I bit the bullet and dropped the bumper off for rechroming. I know many who have paid less for their trailer than what this bumper is going to cost me but it will be unique and very cool .... I will post pictures when I get it back.

Blog about building the bumper

Thank you Charlie for the very kind comment
It has been a lot of work and a labor of love over the past 3 years.
I am very pleased with how it has turned out and we are having a lot of fun traveling the country in it.

Happy New Year everyone.
I have had some time over the Christmas break to update my website with a better version (in my opinion) of the modifications and build process of "Buttercup"

Buttercup how we built our custom Boler

I also had time to edit another YouTube video that I shot last spring on making your own front and rear windows for a 13' Boler or Scamp. Hope you enjoy and I would love to hear any feedback.

Thanks Rick ,
I got a call from the Chromers on Christmas Eve, they are working on the bumper now, bit I also told them to take their time as I didn't need it till spring, although I am sure it will be ready within the next few weeks.

Taking a very close look at the finished bumper today I am very impressed with the work the chroming company did. The chrome has very good depth and the metal work they did was exceptional. We had welded the bumper in 2 places to section it together to make it wide enough to fit, there were also two 1/2" diameter holes to fill, the chromer had to blend the weld, fill the holes and fix dents and damage in a 55+ year old bumper. The following pictures show the finish as well as some of the metal working to repair the dents and straighten the flaws.

I can hardly wait until I can install it in the spring
My blog article on the bumper
