Just Purchased Mity-Lite
Hello,
I just picked up a 1986 Mity-lite in Seattle area.
I need to replace the gas struts, eventually the canvas, and hinges on the door and the pop-up. Would love any advice or feedback on how to proceed.
Thank you!

It's dark already, but will definitely get some up when it's light out tomorrow.

Sweet. Stoked to see what you got. How much? Where did you find it? Let the fun begin. [emoji1303]

Based on searching around this site, it’s the same one that Todd posted a year and a half ago. Found it in Federal Way, WA about 30 mi south of Seattle. Feel like I paid too much at 7k, but we’ll see how bad it really is when I get into it. I stuck some pictures into this album. https://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/...lbums2416.html

Album up
My posts keep getting moderated and I suspect due to trying to link the album. Anyway, I put up an album with images for those interested. I think you can find it by clicking my username. Not sure how else to share it.
Picked it up in Federal Way, feel like I paid too much for it at 7k, but I was a little too excited about it being mostly in tact compared to other images I had seen. It was posted in these forums a year and a half ago by the previous owner.

They're moderated because you don't sufficient posts to be considered a 'trusted' member. I think you must have a minimum of 10 posts to achieve that level. It's not a punishment, it's to prevent spammers.
Nice Mity-Lite BTW.
Good luck

7K not a bad price at all. One sold 3 years ago out of Vancouver BC for just over $10,000 in similar condition.
BTW, wazzat plastic pipe under the body for? Water storage maybe?

Thanks for the info! One side is for fresh water and the other is for gray.

CAUTION
A word of caution: watch for cracks in the frame where the "A" of the towing tongue joins the rectangular frame section under the body. Our 1987 Mity-Lite developed a 3" vertical crack, and almost separated before we could get it properly fixed. We were very lucky to find a blacksmith welding shop while travelling in northen Utah that welded on support plates on both sides, without the welding heat burning the fiberglass. Now the frame-tongue joints are much stronger than original, and restored our confidence in the little gem of a popup trailer.
