Hi all,
Been learning about these unique rigs and viewing everyone's impressive eggs here for a while and wanted your input on what we have found.
We had been thinking for our 1st camper about a little pop up, but found this with a
for sale sign in a driveway last last
fall (2005). The owner hadn't used it for camping, but rather was hauling and storing straw in it! Neglected and sitting for a while, it finally was of no use for him anymore. Needless to say is was a horrid moldy, dirty mess. We finally negotiated a price of $375.00 US. We went home, got our hitch and after some quick wiring, brought it to it's new home about 25 miles.
After lurking here for months we have come to the conclusion that this little 13 footer is a
Boler clone especially since the model is a 1300. But the name of the manufacturer is Trek, Inc. This is what is left of the
VIN label:
Anyone ever heard of that one? Where it was made? The word "Trek" on the pinstriping also has a star in the middle of the "R", as in StarTrek.
We had to dispose of the old cushions due to deterioration with rot and mold. My wife can sew and made new ones. We bleached and "Kilzed" the ensolite and painted several coats of latex
paint. Most of the seams were replaced since they were peeling off. The table had to be recut since the one that was supplied was poorly sized. New custains were made. Most of the interior is complete and now the exterior is about to be tackled. New wiring,
propane tank, and
tires. Frame is rusty but solid. It will probably be
fall until we are ready to roll.
Really enjoy this site and the pics of all the FGRVs.
